Chargefox has completed a network of ultrarapid electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across seven sites in regional Victoria. The completion of works at Horsham connects the Western Highway route between Melbourne and Adelaide.
With $3 million in funding from the Victorian Government, ultrarapid Chargefox sites are now operating at Airport West, Euroa, Barnawartha North, Moe, Torquay, Ballarat and Horsham.
Chargefox matched the state government’s funding to build the stations, which deliver about 400 km in range from 15 minutes of charging, sourcing electricity from 100% renewable energy.
EV owners can now charge their vehicles at over 100 Chargefox sites across Victoria, with the seven ultrarapid sites reported to offer the fastest chargers in Australia.
“We have funded the construction of Australia’s fastest electric vehicle charging stations,” Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio said.
“This investment supports the uptake of electric vehicles, improves air quality and positions us to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Chargefox’s seven stations across Victoria will help build confidence to make the move to sustainable vehicles and power our electric future.”
