Mcgill University - Cosmo Stochastic Mine Planning Laboratory

COSMO is a collaborative laboratory dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through research and development of new, risk managing, stochastic optimization and ore body modelling frameworks, which create value across the entire mining-minerals production chain. Within the context of todayÕs dynamic mining economy, the techniques developed within COSMO, manage and mitigate risks, and at the same time substantially outperform traditional methods. COSMOÕs Smart Mining Complex Optimization methods possess the ability to incorporate several mines, a series of complex processing streams, strict blending requirements and highly heterogeneous mineralized orebodies, the utilization of processing streams for both ore and waste, while managing the risks involved. These methods lie on the frontier of the computational-digital mining engineering field.
