Cheese House
Distributor/Wholesaler in Arlington, Vermont
The Cheese House design was concieved in 1968 by the original owners, the Russell family. It was built in the shape of a cheese wheel with a wedge cut out for the entrance. Swiss cheese holes were painted on the outside of the building to make it look even more like a tempting block of cheese. Chunky, the mouse, stood on top of the building and served as the Cheese House icon for over 30 years. The Arlington, Vermont Cheese House was the first and original location, and soon the idea took over and became a small New England franchise. Around 1988 the original building was modified and a souviner gift shop and clothing section was added. Offers Animal Welfare Approved goat cheese from Consider Bardwell Farm.
