A CCNM (2003) graduate - Dr. Aaron Van Gaver has dedicated his practice to helping those struggling with mental illness and addiction. Practicing on the border of Vancouver's Downtown East Side has given him the perspective that there are people in our own communities that need the help, love and support that those living without addiction and mental illness more commonly have.
Dr. Aaron has furthered his education in the field of addictions, being a SMART Recovery group facilitator, as well as an addiction recovery coach. Currently in school to become an addictions counsellor, Dr. Aaron has been inspired by the people he has met, both teachers and students, that are passionate about helping those struggling with addiction to alcohol, drugs and other process addictions.
With a background in toxicology, Dr. Aaron uses his scientific knowledge of drugs to make accessible the often complicated science of addiction.
