EarthGen uses Cassava roots to create starch foam forms. These can be standard shapes such as plates and cups, or custom designed packaging for any industry.
Recycling is not a sustainable solution, recycling marginally cuts waste Cassava (Manihot esculenta), also called yuca or manioc, is extensively cultivated as an annual crop in tropical and subtropical regions for its edible starchy tuberous root, a major source of carbohydrates. Nigeria is the world's largest producer of cassava.
Cassava roots are very rich in starch, containing significant amounts of calcium (50 mg/100g), phosphorus (40 mg/100g) and vitamin C (25 mg/100g). However, they are poor in protein and other nutrients.
The resulting products demonstrate:
1. High resistance to oil, water, acid and alkali.
2. Starch foam products can be used in -5 ~ 110 environment, microwavable, refrigerator safe.
3. Starch foam products show high degradation in natural environment and prove to be highly
environmentalfriendly in both safety and sanitary standards.
4. Compare with other similar product, Starch foam product is superior in its composition,
functionality, aesthetical and ecological values in comparison to its current counterparts in the
market.
5. Starch foam production process generates zero material waste, emissions, and waste water.
