Bruce Carscadden Architect is a boutique design studio based in Vancouver. The firm’s work is typically public in nature, with an emphasis on community recreation projects in the Lower Mainland and throughout British Columbia. They measured their baseline inventory using the calendar year of 2010. They are working to reduce emissions by continuing with their in-office composting program, use of video conference software, and launching new programs like a replacing their lights with more efficient models, potentially offsetting unavoidable air travel, and instituting a ‘turn if off’ campaign for electronic equipment. With regard to sustainable commuting, Bruce Carscadden Architect are already expert bikers, having won the Vancouver Bike to Work Week challenge for five years running! They are continuing to encourage cycling and other sustainable transportation methods, in part by providing a company car for employees to use for business trips.
