Highstreet has it's origins in the name of Mission Ventures Inc, which started in 2005, with Scott and Melissa Butler moving from Calgary to the Okanagan, with a plan to build 45 condos in Courtenay, BC. Together with partners Don Bell (WestJet), Scott's brother (Matt Butler of Traine Construction Ltd), and one other investor. The business was formed with the early principles of creating aligned interests for employees, partners, and investors. On the strength of the first condo project's successful completion in November 2007, development continued with a Holiday Inn Express in the same city. During construction on the hotel in the middle of the 2008/2009 downturn, the partnership realized the need for a new plan to stay viable going forward, and decided to branch out to various locations through out Western Canada and focus on multi-family rental apartments. Head quartered in Kelowna, Highstreet is passionate about developing smarter real estate that makes a real impact. Investing in top rated soundproofing, quality finishes, and environmental sustainability enable their properties to stand alone in the market place. With a massive investment in solar energy, electric cars, and car sharing in their next communities, thier vision is to own and operate $200 million of net zero real estate by the end of 2024. In October 2016, Highstreet was happy to receive the 2016 Small Business Award from the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and more recently ranked on the 29th annual PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. To date, Highstreet has developed over 25 projects, spanning 15 locations, and amounting to over 2500 homes. From one person working out of a home office, we now proudly have a talented team of 29 full time employees.
