Artisans from around the world (many living in rural communities) don't have the means to sell their work on the international market. NOVICA gives them a free platform to do this, and reach customers on a global scale. To date NOVICA sent over $61M to artisans around the world. They also have a microcredit program where you can lend $10, $25, $50 or more to the same artisans who you purchase from to help them expand their business.
