Virginia Active Angel Network, LLC

Virginia Active Angel Network, VAAN, is a professionally managed club of angel investors who gather for ten dinner meetings from September through July in Charlottesville and Blacksburg/Roanoke, VA. Started in 2005 by a group of University of Virginia alumni, and joined by New Vantage Group of McLean, Virginia, VAAN seeks to bring energy, expertise and entrepreneurs together to create opportunities to invest and network with other like-minded angel investors throughout Virginia. VAAN recently expanded to the Blacksburg and Roanoke area of Virginia with a kick-off dinner on October 17, 2006. VAAN's Club Structure. Membership is by invitation only, for accredited investors, and requires attendance at one dinner meeting prior to joining. There is a one-time registration fee. Annual dues are paid at the beginning of each investor year beginning in September. Dinner's are included at meetings for all members and invited guests. Due Diligence Structure. After presentation of opportunities and only if there is sufficient member interest, a due diligence team is formed. Composed of interested VAAN members, Managing Partners and advisory board members whose expertise provides essential insight into sometimes complicated opportunities, the team, led by the Managing Partners, conduct exhaustive due diligence.
