Mercury Launch

Founded in the small community of Horseshoe Bay in 1948 as Mercury Water Taxi. Howe Sound was a different place in those days. People made a living on the shores of Howe Sound logging and mining. The company transported crews up and down the Sound to Britannia Mines, Woodfibre and Port Mellon Pulp mills as well as construction gangs building the PGE Railway. As Industry shrank we took on the supply of services to the growing cottage community. Over the years we continued to grow adding water taxis, barges and most significantly tugs. Which become the largest component of our business. In 2012 we divested our Water Taxi and small barge business to Mercury Transport Inc. We at Mercury Launch & Tug Ltd. are now focused on the growth of our core business. Providing the highest level of Tug and Barge service to our valued partners along the coast of British Columbia.
