entrepreneurship@UBC, UBC & BCIC

Service Provider in Vancouver, British Columbia

entrepreneurship@UBC is a campus wide initiative designed to inspire and support UBC's entrepreneurial community. Anchoring this initiative are panel of programs designed to provide support and nurturing of nascent ventures being pursued by UBC students, faculty, staff and recent alumni. These include our flagship Accelerator Program based on Steve Blank's Lean LaunchPad process, our extensive mentor network, our incubator space, and our start-up voucher program. Our programs are designed to build a pipeline of investable ventures for our flagship entrepreneurship@UBC Fund, a $10 million start-up fund, capitalized by generous donations from alumni and matching contributions from the BC Innovation Council. The Fund has been formed by UBC in order to make very early stage pre-seed investments in start-ups founded by members of the UBC community. Money alone does not assure a new ventures success. Through its very strong alumni network and its relationships with the business communities in Vancouver and the Okanagan, entrepreneurship@UBC is providing student entrepreneurs with mentorship, course work and unique opportunities for relationship building and learning. entrepreneurship@UBC is governed by a council of Deans and the UILO and the Fund is governed by an Advisory Board comprised of some of Vancouvers most successful entrepreneurs including Greg Peet, Paul Lee and Peter van der Gracht. Making investment decisions is an Investment Board chaired by Haig Farris, a very well known and accomplished angel investor. Our mission: Inspiring entrepreneurial thinking to create innovative ventures.
