The Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) is a civil association founded in December 1988. It is a private, non-profit institution, with no affiliation to party, race or religion. It has permission from the Government of Mexico to receive tax-deductible donations. Its headquarters are in Mexico City and its scope of action covers the entire country. The governing body of the association is the General Assembly of Associates, which in turn delegates the responsibilities of the direction and administration of the institution to a Board of Directors. This Council also has an Executive Committee, which resolves more immediate issues, while the operational staff is headed by the Executive Presidency and is made up of 45 people. Currently, Cemefi's membership totals 1,584 institutions and individuals. Of these, 1,350 are foundations and organizations, 142 companies, 50 individuals, 12 government entities and 75 specialized consultants. Additionally, there are two types of users of our services: 1,560 companies that hold the ESR Distinction and 797 organizations that have the Accreditation in Institutionality and Transparency (AIT).
