I have been an advocate of sustainable living since the first Earth Day. My first degree is in environmental education and I taught an innovative program exposing inner city children to the natural environment. When the EcoBroker designation was created, I realized I could blend my passions about the natural world with my belief in housing as a means of building wealth. I was enthralled with the EcoBroker curriculum and resources to help keep me current with innovative green building programs and associated businesses. The Triangle, Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, is such a desirable place to live that folks from all over the world relocate to enjoy the lifestyle and climate. Green building has taken hold in the Triangle with 20% of new homes certified green.
