Beginning in 2002 when 100% Organic, Fair Trade & Shade Grown Coffee Roasters were practically unheard of, Higher Ground Roasters has proudly helped start and continue this amazing new trend within the coffee industry. Higher Ground Roasters is dedicated to providing the finest coffee beans the world has to offer. To ensure that farmers and the environment are protected in our search for the world's best beans, we roast exclusively certified Organic, Fair trade and Shade Grown Coffee. Every cup of Higher Ground is a vote for the rights of small-scale independent farmers who grow their coffee organically under the forest canopy. Higher Ground Roasters was born through the combination of a desire to produce the highest quality coffee and the hope of improving the act of doing business in todays world. We at Higher Ground began with a few goals: To purchase the best coffee available anywhere, to roast it to perfection, and to make it available - fresh - to anyone. With this in mind, we here at Higher Ground Roasters made the decision to roast exclusively 100% Organic, Fair Trade and Shade Grown coffee of specialty grade. That means that all Higher Ground coffee is grown naturally without the use of harsh chemicals and fertilizers, and they represent the very best of the worlds harvest. In addition, all our beans are grown under the forest canopy, allowing farmers to preserve ancient forests and natural habitat. Since Higher Ground only roasts Fair Trade coffee, all of our beans are grown on family farms and cooperatives, so more attention goes into every bean.
