His wife Lotte Boegevald Hansen started exporting Turkish garments to Denmark in association with a Turkish production partner. The company quickly became successful and when Henrik finished his 4 year posting he joined the family garment business as well. Living in Istanbul for more than 7 years years has provided Lotte and Henrik with deep knowledge about Turkish culture and business tradition, and their invaluable network of strongly committed production partners was built during this period. Today, the company is based in Odense, Denmark, but the Hansens still travel intensively, one week every month, to Turkey to oversee their production and office in Istanbul and maintain the ever vital personal contacts to their production base.
