Priory Insurance Brokers, Ltd.

Priory Insurance Brokers was founded in 1973, by Trevor Whitmore who commenced business in a small office in King Street, Thetford, Norfolk.

Shortly after this, they moved to larger premises in Thetford and in 1978 Jonathan Briggs joined the Company. Jon is now a Director of Priory having over 30 years of experience in almost all forms of Insurance and is currently specializing in the Corporate and Commercial sectors.

During the 1980s, Priory expanded its office network into Beccles in Suffolk and shortly after to Norwich and Wymondham in Norfolk.

Mark Whitmore joined the Company in 1990 and after heading the Personal Lines & Special Risks Division, the Director became Managing Director in 2009.

In 2006, a review of the way Insurance was now transacted was undertaken and as a result of improvements in technology and the way the public viewed insurance, Priory decided that the way forward was to concentrate its business activities under one roof and undertook the major expansion of their centrally located offices in Wymondham. This expansion was completed in early 2007.

This now provides a Centre of Excellence for both Commercial and Personal Lines Insurances, benefiting from up-to-date computer technology and staff skilled and knowledgeable in all the classes of insurance available to clients.
