For me, healthy living means living each day with passion, purpose and intention. It is a culmination of all the little things we do on a daily basis:

       * Nourishing our bodies with delicious and nutritious food

       * Moving our bodies in ways that are freeing and energizing

       * Feeling radiant and joyful throughout our daily pursuits

       * Loving deeply and with an open heart

       * Being in relationships that are supportive and encourage us to be our best selves

       * Weaving in laughter and play wherever possible

       * Finding moments to be in awe and wonder

       * Creating the space to show gratitude and reverence

Each of us requires a unique balance of these elements to keep us vibrant and resilient, and this balance shifts at different points in our lives. My role is to help guide you to feel your best in body, mind and spirit so that you are inspired to dream big and courageously live your most fulfilled life.

I find naturopathic medicine is a way of living that focuses on honouring your natural rhythms, listening and attending to your body’s signals, and utilizing both traditional and scientifically-proven remedies to restore balance. I love sharing how seamlessly naturopathic medicine can fit into your daily life: from embracing morning habits that will give you the energy to go strong all day long and bedtime routines that are guaranteed to give you rejuvenating sleep; to transforming your food into delicious and powerful medicine that the whole family will love; to cultivating a more loving and compassionate relationship with yourself; to sharing my tricks for removing the household toxins that are keeping you from feeling your best; to teaching you the tools you need to labour with confidence and empower you to have the birth you want; to supporting you through your child’s fevers, colds and digestive complaints.

A career in naturopathic medicine seems like it was destined for me. From a very early age, I have been fascinated with the human body and medicine, captivated by Nature’s beauty and innate wisdom, and aware of the delicate interconnectedness of life. I was a sponge soaking up naturopathic principals throughout my childhood from my very nutritionally conscious mom, herbal medicine advocating dad, vegetable garden growing family, and local chiropractor. In high school, I became very sick with mononucleosis and my doctor told me that there was nothing I could do about it, I just had to rest and wait it out. My wise teen self couldn't accept this answer so I began reading about the immune system and natural healing - and it was then that I realized I would become a Naturopathic Doctor. I pursued an undergraduate degree in Nursing so I could dive straight into studying medicine and providing compassionate care. During my training in the CCU and seeing countless open heart surgeries performed, I knew I needed to focus more on helping others optimize their health and experience deep healing. After graduating, I worked as a Public Health Nurse helping new mothers with breastfeeding, postpartum adjustments and newborn care. I loved this work but still felt that something was missing as I wasn’t fully able to bring my nutrition and herbal medicine knowledge to my patients. It wasn’t until I was in Naturopathic school that everything fell into place. At last, I was living the life I was meant to live.
