Dr. Jenna Waddy, ND

Dr. Jenna Waddy is a naturopathic physician at the Matraea Centre in Duncan, B.C.  Growing up in the Cowichan Valley, she has strong roots to both the community and landscape.  Enriched with green vibrancy and friendly faces, it was no question to return to her hometown to serve her local community as a naturopathic doctor.  In turn, the island has provided many opportunities in both her academic and sporting career.  A former member of the Cowichan rugby team and U-19 Canadian Women’s Rugby Team, she understands the importance of community in attaining personal excellence while maintaining a balanced psyche. 

Jenna’s quest for knowledge and insatiable thirst to understand why things are the way they are, led her to naturopathic medicine.  Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree (with distinction) in biopsychology from the University of Victoria and post-graduate naturopathic medical training from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM) in New Westminster.  As a naturopathic physician, she is certified in acupuncture, intravenous therapies and holds prescriptive rights.  Jenna is also an instructor at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition (IHN) in Vancouver, sharing her love of plants through teaching herbal medicine. She employs a variety of therapeutic modalities in her practice, with a particular passion in botanical medicine and connecting with nature to stimulate the body’s unique healing capabilities.  She has a keen interest in the areas of:

• Mental health (anxiety, depression, stress)
• Endocrinology (hormone imbalances)
• Autoimmune conditions
• Gastrointestinal health
• Sports medicine

Jenna believes medicine is both an art and science; an individualized approach to healing is necessary in order to create positive change.  She believes that healing resides from within and our vitality is stimulated when we are connected symbiotically with nature and one another.  Dr. Jenna Waddy is currently accepting new patients at the Matraea Centre in Duncan, B.C.
