Burma Watch International BWI (a.k.a.: Canadian Friends of Burma CFOB)

We are a group of people, including Canadians and people originally from Burma, who sympathize with and have concern for people suffering inside Burma. In 1989, we founded Burma Watch International, a society for human rights, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Society aims for the return and entrenchment of human rights and the renaissance of democratic principles and the rule of law, the freedom of expression, and a free press. It supports the aspirations of the peoples of the Union of Burma to a dignified civilized life without daily fear, terror and oppression.
