The Kelowna Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is a non profit, multi-service organization that has a mandate that spans all ages and the continuum between mental wellness and mental illness. Mission: As the nation-wide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.They calculated their baseline greenhouse gas emissions inventory for their 2011 fiscal year. CMHA Kelowna has set a mandate of a 20% reduction from their baseline emissions by the year 2013. They will achieve this goal by investigating energy upgrades and retrofitting, developing energy star purchasing policies, and working with tenants to reduce energy use. They will also work to divert waste to recycling and reduce paper usage through reduced printing and faxing and switching to recycled paper.
