Directed by Oscar-winner Wally Pfister, Good Run, shown above, celebrates memories made taking lifeÕs journey by boat, and astutely captures the quality experience the Stovold family strives to deliver daily. Serving boaters for more than 50 years, family-owned and -operated Lefroy Harbour Resorts has been their main passion since Eric Stovold purchased Kon Tiki Marina in 1975. Embracing a growing enthusiasm for boating with a strong commitment to exemplary customer service, Eric saw the new venture as an opportunity to teach his five children about business, entrepreneurship and the value of hard work. Co-owner (with brother Chris) and company President today, EricÕs son Jeff was a teenager in the Ô70s, working at the marina during his summer vacation, doing everything that needed to be done Ð from cleaning washrooms to emptying trash, pumping gas, servicing engines and winterizing boats. The 1986 purchase of Lefroy Harbour brought a second Lake Simcoe marina into the fold, with both locations falling under the umbrella of Lefroy Harbour Resorts. Expansions, improvements, and industry best practices followed Ð all with an eye on enhancing their boatersÕ experience, as JeffÕs son Ryan followed in his fatherÕs footsteps, learning the ropes, and building on the strong foundation first laid by grandfather Eric. Today, third-generation Ryan steers the operation as General Manager.
