Telstar was founded in 1962 as a ship upholstery business. After a steady growth has put the first step in 1976 towards retail. Telstar opened in that year a surf shop. The range in subsequent years expanded to include winter sports and outdoor items. The retail experience was opened during the operation of three Intersport sporting goods stores, the first in 1988, in combination with the increasing demand for retail and retail distribution expertise of leisure clothing and travel related items are the basis for the emergence of Telstar Trading BV. Telstar Trading BV, is now completely independent (100% subsidiary ANWB), is principally engaged in the development, let manufacture and distribution of casual wear, travel and mobility products. This leisure clothing (Human Nature), travel and mobility related consumer Products (Travel & Co) are sold exclusively through the ANWB ANWB / VVV shops, ANWB webshop and European sister companies (ADAC / Germany, Touring / …AMTC and Belgium / Austria).
