TerraCycle's purpose is to eliminate the idea of waste! We do this by providing national recycling systems for the previously non-recyclable. TerraCycle Canada has exclusive partnerships with major CPG companies such as Kraft Foods, Nestle and Procter & Gamble. The partnerships provide free collection programs nationwide to collect used packaging such as drink pouches, snack wrappers, coffee capsules, pet food bags and more! These materials are upcycled into consumer products such as pencil cases or recycled into a number of industrial products such as plastic lumber and shipping pallets. With over 21 million people collecting waste in 14 countries, together we have diverted billions of pieces of waste from landfills. Founded in 2001 by Tom Szaky, then a 20-year-old Princeton University freshman, TerraCycle began by producing organic fertilizer, packaging liquid worm droppings in used pop bottles. Since then TerraCycle has grown into one of the top green companies in the world.
