Algal biomass is a fast-growing, renewable, non-food biofuel feedstock, representing the most promising pathway to meet the advanced biofuel production targets set by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. Our mission is to develop and demonstrate the science and technology necessary to economically and consistently produce high productivities of biofuel-profile algal lipids for conversion into fossil-equivalent transportation fuels.
