Founded by a group of dedicated entrepreneurs in 1997, Communitech is Waterloo Regions hub for the commercialization of innovative technologies. Over the years, we have supported and helped build a tech cluster of nearly 1,000 companies that now generates more than $30 billion in revenue. How can we help you? Three mandates. At Communitech, we enjoy three levels of responsibility. Regional Mandate; Primarily, we work to improve Waterloo Regions competitiveness and visibility of a world-class tech cluster. Provincial Mandate; A member of the Ontario Network of Excellence, Communitech functions as the implementation arm of the Province of Ontarios commercialization and economic development. National Mandate; Founded in 2009 by Communitech, the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) is a federal Centre of Excellence in Commercialization and Research (CECR). CDMN is dedicated to establishing Canada as a world leader in digital media (ICT + mobile). CDMN helps bring more digital media solutions to market to create more companies, jobs, and wealth in Canada.
