Frostproof Farms

Mike Heslop is a 3rd generation blueberry farmer at Frostproof Farms in Lake Wales, FL. Frostproof Farms is all organic, with 20 of their total blueberry acreage being planted in pots. The potted plants are filled with organic soil and pine bark. This helps to control weeds and allows for spacial control of the plants. Each acre of land supports about 1,800 pots! Prior to blueberry farming, Mike farmed 900 acres of citrus plants. Mike loves tending to the challenges that come with farming while enjoying the Florida outdoors.
