Banalasta is an Aboriginal name meaning the land of the healthy waterholes, a key element in growing the highest quality Eucalyptus. Located in Australia’s New England Tablelands, we grow and distill our organic certified Eucalyptus Radiata (Australiana) in its natural habitat. However, our story starts in the 70’s when Rolf (founder of the plantation) visited Australia from Germany. He instantly fell in love with the land, the clean air and the wildlife and so acquired the property. At the time, the farm was used for cattle and wool production. In the 90’s the wool price collapsed, so he looked for a new, sustainable way to farm the land. He discovered the benefit rich Eucalyptus oil and learnt that at the time almost all of the eucalyptus oil in Australia was imported from China and South Africa and was sub par the quality of Australian Eucalyptus. He made it his mission to establish a plantation for this special Australian oil.
