If you haven't noticed, some of the names of foods and ingredients popping up on shelves and menus across our great world are unusual, if not outright alien. When dining out, it is not uncommon to probe a waiter about a certain item, such as, 'What is Chipotle?'. Sometimes the answer can sway your choice in the direction of this newly discovered precious component. People are excited about trying new and different foods. We hear our friends talk of new dishes they recently had, or recipes they've tried with various additives that have until recently been unfamiliar and hard to find. Since our very first shipment of chanterelle mushrooms in 1989, Woodland Foods' focus has been on unusual ingredients. We've established our niche as a growing leader in procuring and providing 'difficult to find' specialty foods from around the world to food service distributors and food manufacturers.
