Cafe Medina - Launching in July!

Since 2008, Caf Medina has carved out a niche for serving unique, bistro-inspired food in a comfortable-yet-chic environment that reflects the lifestyle and desires of the local neighbourhood and Vancouver at large. Medina prides itself on providing a fresh and eclectic alternative and a pioneering attitude towards caf culture. Originally opened as a daytime counterpart to neighbouring nighttime hot spot Chambar, Caf Medina serves connoisseur-savvy coffee, a full complement of eclectic breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch options and sweet sustenance via the citys best Belgian waffles. While the name Medina has many interpretations, it was chosen for its connotation to radiant or enlightened city and this little caf quickly shone as one of the citys most stylish additions. Outfitted using green building materials including an exceptional recycled glass bar top and palm-wood paneling, Medina has all the makings of a stylish, warm and modern bistro caf. Owner Robbie Kane who has long dedicated himself to the art of providing memorable dining experiences highlighted by his now-signature brand of exceptional and enlightened hospitality first signed on at Medinas sister restaurant Chambar in 2004, where he forged an instant connection with owners Karri and Nico Schuermans. When the space next to Chambar became available four years later and Caf Medina opened its doors, Kane realized his dream of opening and managing his own restaurant by becoming a partner with the Schuermans in the new venture. An integral part of the development of everything under the Medina umbrella from the selection of the name and initial concepts through to the creation of the restaurants mission statement Kane quickly proved himself to be a more-than-capable operator and restaurateur. Now, as the full owner and general manager of Caf Medina, Kane and his staff provide memorable meals to a multitude of Vancouverites and visitors alike who crave a truly exceptional destination for breakfast, lunch and brunch. More importantly, Kane has created a place where people return again and again not just for the sumptuous food, but for the ambiance and experience as well.
