Since 2009, we've been dedicated to giving you the best coffee experience possible. All of our coffees are artisan roasted in small batches to ensure the unique flavor of each bean is perfectly presented and delivered to you at the peak of freshness. We both have formal training as biologists, which has taken us on career paths from biofuels research and medical device manufacturing to botany field work and athletic product operations management. We began roasting coffee in 2009 as a fun pastime, but came away with the desire to take it to the next level. The process of roasting is fascinating; watching the hard, inedible green beans turn into the powerfully aromatic, flavorful beverage we know as coffee, knowing that a slight change in time, temperature or airflow can ruin a batch or create a new, undiscovered nuance of flavor. More and more of our time began to be dedicated to the art (and science) of roasting coffee. As a result, Blake now spends his hours in front of the roaster pondering the laws of thermodynamics as they apply to roasting coffee and sourcing the best green beans available, while Katie geeks out with Quickbooks and operations.
