In the early 80s, a recently married Ecuadorian couple, set out on an adventurous voyage to the Enchanted Galapagos Islands aboard a small and very rustic 1902 Baltic trader. Never could they have imagined at the time of their voyage, that it would set the roots for the creation of Quasar Expeditions, a pioneer in high-end adventure travel in Latin America. 27 years later, Quasar Expeditions continues to inspire adventurous travelers from all over the world, now with its unique adventures in Patagonia. Quasar's intimate adventures allow travelers to immerse themselves in nature, so that they can greater cherish and appreciate it, and we offer plenty of opportunities for personal encounters with wildlife. Quasar Expeditions is a permanent supporter of the Charles Darwin Foundation, which works to preserve the Galapagos ecosystem and its endangered species through research and scientific knowledge. We are members of FundacionNatura, who, with the World Wildlife Fund, develop conservation projects for the Galapagos ecosystem and other Ecuadorian parks. We are also member of Fundacion Galapagos, working to recycle waste produced by Galapagos eco-tourism and the population of Galapagos. In Patagonia, Quasar Expeditions has partnered with Reforest Patagonia, a nonprofit, public and private alliance that unites people of different nationalities, backgrounds and cultures under a single objective: to recover one of the world's most important ecosystems. We are also proud members of Tread Lightly!, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote responsible outdoor recreation through ethics education and stewardship programs.
