Harbour Air Seaplanes (YVR)

Harbour Air Seaplanes offers scheduled service, charter, and tour flights throughout coastal BC and is the largest all seaplane airline in North America. For the 2016 fiscal year, they measured their GHG inventory with Climate Smart at their South Vancouver (YVR) seaplane terminal in Richmond. They are tackling their waste emissions through composting, increased recycling, and switching to compostable coffee cups for their guests. They are also working to switch lighting to LED, and are investigating ways to minimize environmental impact on the Fraser River. In addition, the company is seeking partnerships with local car sharing providers to establish a location near the terminal. The company has also been working with Offsetters Climate Solutions on carbon reduction and offsetting programs since 2007, and is North America’s first carbon neutral airline. Harbour Air’s South Vancouver (YVR) base is Climate Smart certified for 2016.
