Capital City Paving provides municipalities, contractors and the residents of Vancouver Island a Warm Mix Asphalt product as well as conventional Hot Mix Asphalts. Capital City Paving operates a state of the art asphalt plant and can efficiently handle any size paving project in greater Victoria. Capital City Paving is an environmentally conscious company committed to reducing its carbon footprint. Every year Capital City Paving recycles over 20,000 tonnes of old asphalt pavement for use in asphalt mixes and its Road Base products.They measured their baseline inventory using data from the 2007 calender year. Since 2007, they upgraded their asphalt plant, insulated and heated their asphalt silos, replaced old vehicles with newer more efficient models, tented all of their aggregates and adjusted the asphalt plant’s operations to reduce natural gas use. They are continuing to reduce their annual emissions by minimizing moisture penetration to aggregates, relocating their office to reduce travel and tracking fuel distribution of individual vehicles.
