Urban Escapes was founded in 1998 with the vision of building beautiful custom homes within the city and county of Grande Prairie. The business was founded by my dad ‘Jim’ after him and I had built his own home and realized that we had a passion for building that really stemmed from many years of ‘working together’ on personal back yard projects. We wanted to build great houses for good people, that reflected the relationships, pride and workmanship we have always put into our projects. In 2004 I officially became a partner with my dad after finishing college, and in 2011 became the sole owner when he decided to ‘Retire’(although we still work together). Since the beginning we have been very fortunate to have been involved in many unique projects for which we have won awards and that have ranged from rustic log and timber-frame, to modern and contemporary styles. We have found success by simply keeping our volume of projects low to allow for a personal service to our clients that is not possible by taking on too much at a time. Our philosophy is built on the idea that we are building a relationship with the people we build for while also building them a house.
