FTSE techMARK Indices
Service Provider in London
techMARK and techMARK mediscience are specially developed segments of the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market, designed for companies at the forefront of innovative technology. techMARK was launched in November 1999 by the Exchange to create new opportunities for companies whose business is dependent on technological innovation, and for investors in those companies. Two years later, techMARK mediscience was then launched to focus on companies whose business is dependent on innovation in the development or manufacture of pharmaceuticals, or products or services that are wholly or substantially dedicated to the healthcare industry. techMARK brings together companies whose business models require a particularly high level of innovation and investment into research and development programmes. By providing a spotlight on this segment of the Main Market, it helps techMARK companies to build successful relationships with investors – vital to innovation and funding discovery. And for scientific-research based companies, the Listing Rules take into account your business specialisation and facilitate your admission to the Main Market. The FTSE techMARK Index Series is based on the technology stocks listed on the London Stock Exchange's (LSE) techMARK market, as classified according to the ICB (Industrial Classification Benchmark). The indices provide market participants with tools to measure the performance of companies involved in the innovative technologies that are shaping the future. The indices include: FTSE techMARK All-Share Index - comprises all companies included within the LSE's techMARK market. FTSE techMARK Focus Index - comprises companies within the FTSE techMARK All-Share Index, which are under £4 billion by full market capitalisation (before the application of any investability weightings or capping restrictions). FTSE techMARK Mediscience Index - a real-time index comprising mid and small cap companies within the LSE's techMARK Mediscience market. Constituents are from the Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Equipment and Supplies sectors, as classified by ICB. The indices are suitable for benchmarking and can be used as tools in the creation of index-tracking products, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and derivatives.
