Cafe Lobo, LLC
Importer/Exporter in Lincolnville, Maine
Caf Lobo, LLC began as Caf Lobo, S.A. in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1993. The company was formed to work alongside a small specialty exporter at the time that was handling only Costa Rican coffees. Caf Lobo moved to New Orleans in 1997 and continued to work with the exporter in Costa Rica until the summer of 1998. Caf Lobo, LLC was originally located at 822 Perdido Street in New Orleans, LA from 1997 until August of 2005, when we were suddenly displaced by Hurricane Katrina and we moved to our new location on Camp Street. In June of 2006, we opened another office in Belfast, Maine in order to both handle our customer base in the Northeast and to have a second place of operation in case New Orleans was unfortunate enough to have another hurricane. Currently, Caf Lobo has a total of 8 employees, with our offices in New Orleans handling sales and logistics with the office in Maine focused on purchasing and administration. Ironically, perdido which means "lost" in Spanish, was named such after they could not find it after an earlier hurricane in the 1800s. Or, at least this is the story I heard- Caf Lobo focuses on purchasing coffees that their customers need today to compete and thrive in their given market place. We try not to "oversell" our product, based upon our personal and subjective feelings about any given coffee. Our goal is to make sure that we provide you with a coffee that you need, not a coffee we want to sell.
