Vul Coffee Roasters

We learned about coffee in part from the trends that began around the early 1990s. By the time we found ourselves on our third date (about 25 years after our second one), we happened to come across the world of specialty coffee. Our curiosity led us to find coffees that were being roasted to bring out the nuances of particular beans. Visiting cafes, roasters and learning more about the growing and harvesting of coffee, our appreciation for understanding its potential began to develop. One afternoon while sitting on the couch drinking some coffee brewed on a Chemex, we wondered what we could do to spend more time together. We decided to roast. We began roasting by running small batches in our one bedroom studio. After outgrowing our teeny tiny space and our teeny tiny roaster, the great search for just the right space and roaster began. We like to work with coffee, studying its history and what goes into growing it. We roast micro batches and look for ways to bring out individual attributes while continuing to learn and share what's so intriguing about coffee.
