Enermodal is one of Canada’s premier sustainability consultants, with staff members who were Ontario’s first LEED™ Accredited Professionals. Additionally, Enermodal’s president, Stephen Carpenter, is a LEED™ Faculty member and chair of the LEED™ Canada Technical Advisory Group. We are currently working on sustainable projects worth over $2 billion, including over 100 LEED buildings. Enermodal has 14 projects that are LEED® Canada certified or currently awaiting final certification from the CaGBC. Major projects include the redevelopment of Regent Park, Toronto; the 50-storey Bay Adelaide Centre, Torono; the National Portrait Gallery, Ottawa; the 1.4 million ft2 Maple Leaf Towers Condominium, Toronto; the University of Calgary Veterinary School and the New Brunswick Upper River Valley Hospital. As one of the leading building energy simulators and energy efficiency consultants in North America, Enermodal has worked on close to 150 projects that meet the requirements of the Government of Canada’s Commercial Building Incentive Program ((CBIP). Enermodal’s services were integral in the design of Canada’s most energy efficient building: The University of Ottawa Biology Building. This building was independently verified to provide a 73% reduction in energy use relative to the National Energy Code. Enermodal has been recognized numerous times for pushing the limits of sustainable design. Recent accolades include a Sustainability Lifetime Achievement Award; 2004 NRCan Energy Efficiency Award for New Buildings (University of Ottawa); two ASHRAE Technology Awards for innovative commercial (Green on the Grand) and residential (Waterloo Green Home) building design.
