Local Practice Architecture + Design Ltd is is a boutique architectural firm based in Vancouver, BC focused on the delivery of buildings in the public realm, including those for infrastructure, community civic use and high performance housing with a strong public presence. Our expertise is in the definition and realization of projects with high expectations for sustainability but with no easy answers. Our thinking is grounded in the principles of Regenerative Development and Regenerative Design, and we work with industry leaders such as Bill Reed and the Regenesis Group in this emerging field to create projects that have a lasting positive impact on the evolution of their host communities. As a firm, we utilize the Integrated Design Process for all of our projects, and our focus is on developing whole systems approaches to our Clients’ projects. Our role often extends beyond traditional architectural services to meaningful engagement with strategic planning, sophisticated decision analysis, urban design, sustainable design expertise and project management. Our Clients include government bodies and public institutions across Western Canada including The City of Surrey, The BC French School Board, The Comox Valley Regional District, The City of Nanaimo, Metro Vancouver, The City of Saskatoon, The SFU Community Trust, The Yukon College and the Nisga’a Nation.
