Kîsik Aerial Survey Inc. (“Kîsik”) is 100% Aboriginal owned and the only qualified Aboriginal supplier of aerial survey work in Canada. Their team comprises of professional backgrounds in aviation, geometrics, cartography, geographic information system, remote sensing, and safety management. Kîsik measured their third greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory, for the 2014 calendar year. As their company grows, they have continued to reduce their emissions intensity. In 2014, their emissions per flight hour reduced by 11% compared with their baseline and 4% compared with their 2013 calendar year. To build on their success, Kîsik will be implementing strategies aimed at reducing emissions from their business trips, paper consumption, electricity, and waste.
